welcome

i decided to finally start a blog for our family. although it is just derek and me right now, by the time we're ready to start adding to the family i will be an expert blogger! (and for those of you wondering how long that might be...not soon. how's that for an answer?)

derek is still working as a computer technician for murfreesboro city schools. he loves his job and the people he works with are great. it's so wonderful to live with someone who loves what they do and where they do it!

he is also trying to pick up the pace in his freelance webdesign business (dereklongdesigns.com). his business website is in desperate need of an update and he is in the process of that right now so keep checking back. he is very talented and i hope that he can continue to learn and increase his knowledge (and make that extra cash too, of course!). not only does he design websites, he can do logos, banners, business cards, and photo repairs. please spread the word to friends and family!

i will be going back to work on monday. i am currently the title one coordinator at apollo middles school in antioch. i left the classroom after thanksgiving last year. i enjoy what i do, but i really miss working with the children! i plan to go back to the classroom within the next few years, for sure!

one of my biggest accomplishments within the past year was completing my masters in education. i have my begining administrator (principal) license. i plan to become an assistant principal within the next 10-12 years and then one day have my own school. i am currently at mtsu working on my education specialist degree in curriculum. what can i say? i love to learn!

we currently reside in antioch, tn. we love our cute little townhouse, but hope to sell as soon as the market is back to "normal." we just need more space!
